Damarria Davis (she/her)

Co-Lead

Full Cirlce Doula • Lactation + Feeding Specialist • Herbalist • Peristeam Hyrdotherapy Student • Womb Healer

I’m Damarria, a Seattle native and the proud owner of Divine Doula Birthing Services. I became a teen mother seventeen years ago. The experience fueled my passion for birth and all things baby. I am a Childbirth Educator and Full Circle Doula specializing in labor and postpartum care.

As a mother of four children, becoming a doula was a result of my own birthing experiences. In 2018, I became pregnant with my youngest child.

As a result of being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, I was advised to terminate the pregnancy and that my own life expectancy was slim. Seeking a second opinion allowed me to carry full term and birth a healthy baby boy. This experience, in particular, provided an understanding that it is imperative to have culturally appropriate advocacy, resources, and care.

An integral factor of my role is to provide mental, physical, and emotional support to each client. As a resource for education and empowerment, I am committed to parent-centered care that is culturally responsive and affirms the reality of disparaged medical care for birthers of color.

When I’m not supporting birthing families, I am with my own. I am happiest in a house full of love and laughter and  cheering on my children in a plethora of extra curricular activities. I love getting lost outdoors and hiking during the spring and summer months. Having attended Leschi Elementary School, Washington Middle School, Garfield High School, and the University of Washington, dogs are naturally my favorite animal- and my heart bleeds purple!

The most rewarding part of becoming a doula is finding the value of my own lived experiences and applying the knowledge to the support provided to my clients. Being a member of the underserved and marginalized community allowed me to realize I wanted to be the person I never had during labor and that’s the person I am committed to becoming.
